With over 35 years of public accounting experience, Chuck has developed a strong background in the areas of individual and business income tax, financial planning and estate planning. His practice specializes in providing highly personalized tax and financial planning services to individuals, families and small businesses.

Chuck graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Business (Accounting), attained the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1988, and the AICPA Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation in that same year. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial and Estate Planning Council of St. Paul.

Mike has worked extensively in the tax area with over 30 years of public accounting experience. He has a strong background in providing both individuals and small businesses with a full range of tax and accounting services. In addition, Mike specializes in the estate and trust areas where he enjoys getting to know his clients on a personal level.

Mike is a 1981 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting. He is member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Financial and Estate Planning Council of St. Paul.

With four children, Mike and his wife are kept very busy. Whenever they can, they get away to their cabin and enjoy time together. Mike also enjoys traveling, gardening and an occasional round of golf.

Throughout his career as a Certified Public Accountant, Steve has primarily served entrepreneurial business owners. He has assisted clients with accounting and tax issues, financial modeling, business coaching, and business succession consulting. He has worked inside private companies as well as CPA firms, and operated his own CPA practice for 16 years. In January 2012, he joined DeNet Kenefick & Associates as a shareholder, complementing the firm’s existing strengths in providing personal, individualized financial solutions and guidance to its clients.

Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina in 1979, and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Minnesota in 1981. He is married and has four adult children and a growing number of grandchildren, who all enjoy spending time at the family cabin outside of Ely, Minnesota.

Ann has close to 30 years of experience in public and private accounting. She left public accounting in 1991 for a stint in various private companies and returned to public accounting in 1999. She joined DeNet Kenefick & Associates in January 2012.

Ann enjoys working directly with small- to mid-sized companies helping them manage their accounting data and processes. She provides hands-on support and guidance in a variety of areas including accounting systems, financial reporting and payroll.

Ann graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. In her free time she stays active by walking, biking and doing Pilates. She enjoys going to the theater, reading and playing board games with her family.

Jason is a 1992 graduate of Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Business with an emphasis in Accounting and Finance. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and Minnesota Society of CPAs, and he’s held an active CPA license since 1997.

Jason spent five years with Sands DeNet, P.A. and has been with DeNet Kenefick & Associates P.A. since 2004. Jason has a strong background in providing individuals and small businesses a wide range of tax and accounting services.

Jason lives in Eagan with his wife Melissa and two sons. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, reading, and home brewing.

Blake joined DeNet Kenefick & Associates in 2015. He has several years of experience providing a variety of tax, accounting, and advisory services to a diverse client base. He specializes in providing tax and accounting services to individuals and small businesses. Blake’s focus is to develop trusted client relationships by coupling highly personalized service with technical expertise and close attention to detail.

Blake graduated from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. He then attended Kellstadt Graduate School of Business (DePaul University) where he received his Master of Accountancy degree. Blake is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is an avid learner and attends conferences regularly in order to develop himself professionally. When away from the office, Blake enjoys golfing, exercising, fishing, and relaxing in northern Minnesota.

Deb has had a lengthy career in public accounting, boasting more than 30 years of experience in the field. She has worked with Chuck and Mike for over 22 years, and has been with DeNet Kenefick and Associates since its inception.

Throughout her career with DeNet Kenefick, she has enjoyed forming one-on-one relationships with many of our clients and always looks forward to assisting them with their individual tax needs. Along with individual taxes, Deb specializes in estate and trust taxation.  

Deb graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. When Deb is not working she spends time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She likes to take road trips and relaxes by crocheting or reading.

Bonnie has twenty years of experience in public accounting and joined DeNet Kenefick in 2021 as a manager. She started bookkeeping when she was fifteen and owned her own business for many years. She became a CPA in 2004, but has been advising businesses for over thirty years. Her background has developed an emphasis on business, individual tax, and advisory services. She is fluent in QuickBooks and Sage software and provides consulting to businesses and individuals on maximizing the software. Her goal is to help clients manage their business by providing practical advice, reliable numbers, and addressing their concerns.

She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Metro State University and holds a Minnesota and Wisconsin CPA license. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. She currently serves as the treasurer for Wild Rivers Conservancy.

Outside of work, she likes to spend her spare time with family in the outdoors and remodeling houses. Her favorite activities are canoeing, camping, backpacking, snowshoeing, and traveling to different State and National Parks.

Matt joined the DeNet Kenefick & Associates team as a staff accountant in June of 2015. He brings several years of experience with him and has been an enrolled agent for 9 years before joining our company. Matt has experience in individual and business taxes, as well as QuickBooks and payroll.

During his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids. He enjoys traveling, yard work and is passionate about woodworking.

Kalee joined DeNet Kenefick & Associates in 2018. As a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting professional, she has experience working with a variety of clients to provide tax, accounting, and advisory services. Her focus is to build trusted relationships with clients by listening to their needs and finding a solution to fulfill their long and short-term goals.

Kalee graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and later earned her Master of Accountancy degree. She is a member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. Outside of work, Kalee enjoys riding her horse, Reese, and relaxing at the lake in Alexandria,MN.

Since joining the firm in 2005, Julie has played an important role in helping keep the office of DeNet Kenefick & Associates running smoothly. She is one of the first contacts our clients have with our office and enjoys having a personal conversation with each person that calls or visits. She takes pride in providing excellent customer service to everyone who crosses her path.

Prior to joining the DeNet Kenefick team, Julie spent 13 years in the customer service industry. Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota and when she’s not working she keeps busy spending time with her husband, four children and four grandchildren. She enjoys outdoor activities, traveling and reading.

Amanda joined DKA at the front desk in 2018 after working as a kitchen manager in a restaurant. At the time she had just had her first son, Kaden, with partner, Jacob. She actually learned about the position from Jacob’s mother, Julie who was looking for someone to help her at the front desk. Over time, she discovered an interest in Bookkeeping and has been doing that since. Fast forward a year and Amanda had another son, Hunter, and also a dog at home, Remmi. In her free time, Amanda likes to cook and always stay busy! She tries to show the positive in everything and loves to smile!

With a background rooted in the hospitality industry, Amanda brings an incredibly versatile skill set to her position at DKA. With Bookkeeping being her main role, she has the ability to quickly adapt to new situations. Her willingness to support current staff with various systems and procedures makes her an invaluable asset. Amanda is accustomed to rolling up her sleeves and delving into the new and unique aspects of her job. Her enthusiasm is contagious and her knowledge base is continuously expanding.

Kelsey joined DeNet Kenefick & Associates in 2020 as an Office Administrator. Before joining the firm, she spent 14 years teaching English as a Second language, Middle School Math and Science, and various Elementary ages in public education. Her background in Communications & Education make DeNet Kenefick & Associates her ideal work environment; fast paced and relationship oriented.

Kelsey graduated from Luther College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, minors in Communications & Linguistics, and endorsements in English as Second Language and Bilingual Education. She and her husband, Matt, live in Hastings with their 4 children. When not busy shuffling kids to activities, Kelsey loves time at the family cabin and camper. She also loves her vegetable gardens and outdoor, family activities.
